DoubleDown Fort Knox
From DoubleDown Interactive; available on iOS and Android.
-
Designed, iterated, and shipped multiple feature designs for Social Casino projects.
-
Designed, implemented, tested, and shipped DeltaDNA-driven Live Ops features, in collaboration with product managers, engineers, and artists.
-
Monitored key feature metrics using Amplitude (and DeltaDNA, when applicable). Used relevant data to improve feature experiences, control economic impact on other systems, and plan future iterations of the features.
-
Wrote and maintained detailed specs and living feature documentation that engineers, QA, CS reps, and other team members could reference for their purposes.
-
Conducted thorough competitive research on 15+ successful social casino titles to learn more about the Social Casino market and understand its players’ goals and drivers.
In the video pictured right, you can see an extended capture of a feature I was the key designer for during my time on the DoubleDown Fort Knox team.

My work on this project included:
-
Writing design documentation and collaborating across disciplines to accurately scope the work.
-
This included designing a technically focused "mad libs" style content design structure for the daily challenges that could be used to deliver hundreds of content combinations.
-
-
Scripting my own python tool to assist with implementation of the challenge content schedules. This tool could accept a formatted spreadsheet as input, and would output a single JSON file (usually over 10,000 lines) containing multiple weeks of content.
-
Playtesting and tuning challenges before the feature was shipped, and then monitoring completion rates after ship to ensure that individual challenges were being engaged with to a degree that aligned with our KPIs.
